What brings you here
Welcome to Hope and Bloom

Everyone’s journey to therapy is unique. You might be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or low, or maybe you’re simply feeling stuck. Perhaps you’re working through loss, healing from trauma, or facing a significant life transition. Sometimes, there’s no clear reason, just a quiet knowing that something isn’t quite right.

Wherever you are in your journey, Hope and Bloom gives you a safe, supportive space to be heard and gently guided at a pace that feels right for you.
About me
Hi, I’m Hollie Baynham, a counsellor and psychotherapist with an extensive background that brings together my experiences of working in education, health and social care to inform my practice. My career spans work across all age groups, with over 23 years of experience supporting individuals at every stage of life, from the very beginning through to older age and end-of-life care.
My journey into counselling was a gentle progression from a more physical supporting role over the years to supporting the mental wellbeing of those I cared for. I experienced a number of situations and one in particular that shifted me onto this path and that has changed my outlook ever since. Humbled by my experiences I then went on to dedicate six years into training, personal development, and to qualify as a Person-Centred Counsellor and Psychotherapist (BSc Hons). The 'Wounded Healer' has never felt so relatable as it sent me on a journey that ripped plasters off in an instant, with wounds resurfacing over time, but eventually leading to better understanding and acceptance.

Therapy has changed my life. It hasn’t always been easy, often overwhelming and sometimes confusing, but relearning who I am has been worth every moment. My experiences greatly influence how I support others. I’ve may have been in a similar place you might find yourself today, and that lived understanding allows me to connect with genuine empathy and shape my approach.

If you’re looking for a space where you’re seen, heard, and supported exactly as you are, I’m here to walk alongside you, every step of the way.
Working Together
My belief is that a good and trusting therapeutic relationship is essential for allowing others to express themselves freely, and the driving force towards meaningful change. From my own experiences of personal therapy and feedback from my clients, finding a therapist that is the right fit, and one that you feel you can talk about all the unspoken things on your mind to, is not as easy as some may think. A therapist that misses the mark can stay with you, it can taint your view of engaging in future therapy for years or sometimes altogether... and don't get me started on 'counsellors' who have completed a 6 week online course who go on to practice (There is a blog of my opinions)
For these reasons I offer a free initial consultation, where we can have an informal chat, explore what has brought you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. There is no obligation to continue if its not what you are looking for but gives us the opportunity to see if working together feels like the right fit.

I offer sessions either face to face, online or via telephone. To make support more accessible I also offer a variety of discounts for people working in specific professional sectors and those in financial difficulty.
